Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics—STEM, are vital to our future, and the future of our children. Information technology pervades every aspect of our lives and it is more important than ever we prepare our youth with the skills to become successful in today's digital age. Have you considered how often we experience technology in our lives? In today’s world, technology and engineering create 3D printers, bionic limbs, robotics, quantum computers and smartphones. They design smart buildings, roads, and bridges; and they are working to tackle tomorrow's challenges of global warming, water desalinization, space travel, and transportation. We only have to look around to see what improvements to our lives have been engineered in the last decade alone. Imagine what impact our children will have in the next 50 years, if we can only prepare them? Students must not only become proficient in information technology, but they must also learn the responsibilities of a digital citizen in today's interconnected world.
